Arm

ARM MUSCLES

The arm muscles are divided into 2 regions:

• Previous Region
• posterior region

Previous Region

1. BRACHIAL BICEPS

Proximal Insertion :

Long Portion : Supraglenoid tubercle
Short Portion : Coracoid Process

Distal Insertion : Radial tuberosity

Innervation : Musculocutaneous nerve (C5 and C6)

Action : Elbow/Shoulder Flexion and Forearm Supination

2. ANTERIOR BRACHIAL

Proximal Insertion : Anterior surface of the distal half of the humerus
Distal Insertion : Coronoid process and tuberosity of the ulna
Innervation : Musculocutaneous nerve (C5 and C6)
Action : Elbow Flexion

3. CORACOBRACHIAL

Proximal Insertion : Coracoid process – scapula
Distal Insertion : Middle 1/3 of the medial surface of the humeral body
Innervation : Musculocutaneous nerve (C5 and C6)
Action : Flexion and Adduction of the Arm

posterior region

1. BRACHIAL TRICES

Proximal Insertion :

Long portion : Infraglenoid tubercle
Medial portion : ½ distal of the posterior surface of the humerus (below the radial groove)
Lateral Portion : Proximal ½ of the posterior aspect of the humerus (above the radial groove)
Distal Insertion : Olecranon
Innervation : Radial Nerve (C7 - C8)
Action : Elbow Extension
